Il 14 Dicembre Microsoft ha annunciato che anche Internet Explorer 7 utilizzerà l’icona arancione già usata da Firefox per indicare feed Atom e RSS.
I’m excited to announce that we’re adopting the icon used in Firefox. John and Chris were very enthusiastic about allowing us (and anyone in the community) to use their icon. This isn’t the first time that we’ve worked with the Mozilla team to exchange ideas and encourage consistency between browsers, and we’re sure it won’t be the last.
Una delle motivazioni ufficiali fornite da Microsoft è la volontà di evitare eccessiva confusione agli utenti e tentare di raggiungere degli standard tra browser almeno in qualche campo.
Matt Brett ha preso la palla al balzo ed in qualche giorno ha sviluppato e messo online Feed Icons.
Da questo sito potete scaricare uno zip contenente numerose versioni dell’icona originale in diversi formati per ogni esigenza.
